Standards help. A real scan test decides.
Keep a clear four-module quiet zone and strong contrast. More data or higher recovery creates a denser symbol. Printing material, glare, damage, camera software, and viewing distance still affect scanning, so test the final artwork on the devices that matter.

How much text fits in a QR code?+
Capacity depends on characters and recovery level. Shorter content creates a simpler pattern that is easier to scan.
Does scanning need internet?+
No. Plain text is stored inside the QR code and can be displayed without an internet connection.
Can I encode emoji or non-English text?+
Most modern scanners support UTF-8 text, including many languages and emoji, though very long multibyte text creates denser codes.
